Ready, Set... Finish!
Just in case you were wondering after yesterday's blog, I finished the Friesen 5K in 32 minutes and 10 seconds. Not bad for a 42-year-old Star Wars geek!

We've run this race every year (although it's only two years old), and I'm setting myself a trend. My goal was 30 minutes, so I was a bit over that. However, this year's time was three minutes and fifteen seconds faster than last year. I guess losing 16 pounds since last year helped as well. (Of course, the 16 pounds might have come off because we weren't tailgating at hockey games until June this summer. I'm looking forward to putting it back on... Go 'Canes!)

My older daughter cramped up early, but still finished in 37:40. My wife and younger daughter did the 1-mile walk, so that they were waiting for us at the finish line. As soon as she gets some pictures off her camera, I'll post 'em for you. The Hurricanes website might also have some pictures in the coming days...

You are making me feel pretty guilty. I may have to get my but in gear and start running again.:)
