Supposing Luke turned to the dark side.

Would the duo of Darth Vader and Darth ----- (whatever Sith name Vader gave Luke) have been the ultimate pair of Sith Lords?

Now, I know, Luke turning to the dark side for real and for good sounds far fetched to some... but, he was only a hairs breath away from it after he severed Vaders hand at the end of Ep:6!

He defeated Vader in the final moments of thier last dual, purely, by channeling the dark side!!!

The same way Anakin defeated Dooku in the final moments of thier dual.
Only difference is, Anakin gave in to Palpatines gaoding him to finish it, go for the kill, and Luke pulled himself back from the darkside and threw down his saber.

Now, what if Vader hadnt commited suicide by hurling the Emperor down the shaft? What if Vader had a spare lightsaber in his cloak and killed Palps fast... stab in the back?

Better yet... Luke goes into his dark-side fueled rage and attacks Vader EXCEPT, he didnt hack off Vaders hand. Vader pulled through and beat Luke there. Now Luke is down, beaten and in the throws of the dark side with his father standing above him with a stretched out hand?

Luke joins and before long the two of them device a way to 'off' Palpatine and Vader is the new emperor and Luke his apprentice.

How awesome of a team would they have made?
No mind games or trickery (compared to the Palps/Anakin situation), just together ruling the galaxy as father and son!!!

No real worries of the apprentice scheming to take his masters position through assassination (as had always been the Sith way), I mean Lukes compassion for his father was his undoing right?

I know one argument bound to rise here... Anakin's passion for Padme was his undoing but he still turned on, and attacked, her.

Luke 's "final straw", or the thing that put him over the edge to channel such dark side energy to deafet his father was the threat that his new-found sister may be corrupted.

So, maybe Vader puts an end to Palps (overconfident) idea of letting the rebel fleet being destroyed by the death star and he orders all 20ish Star Destroyers to full-attack and the rebel fleet is there-by quickly anhialated.

Then send thousands of troops to the moon to wipe out the ewoks and the strike force (with special instructions, of course, that Liea was to be captured alive).

Vader has Liea safely now locked away and alive... with Luke at his side.

So.... Luke and Vader... ultimate Sith Lord duo?
