 | Friday the Thirteenth and Thursday the 19th--A DaVinci Code/Star Wars parallel |
First of all, I'd like to announce that in 13 days, this account will expire. As of yet, I have no way of renewing it, so I'll just let you all know that I have highly enjoyed putting my thoughts out there and getting your input in return. It's been very thought-provoking.
Also, congratulations to Ian McDiarmid for his Tony! He, Ewan and Liam are all on my must-meet-before-I-die list!
I was reading The DaVinci Code last week and the story about the origins of Friday the Thirteenth caught my attention. Orders were sent to all the regions of the Holy Roman Empire to be opened on Friday the 13th in 1307. At the specified time, the commanders opened the same message ordering them to murder the Knights Templar for heresy and perversions.
Now, does that sound familiar to anyone else who watched Revenge of the Sith?! The last time I had read DaVinci Code was before ROTS and I did not remember Friday the 13th at all while watching Order 66, but I have to wonder if that was an inspiration for George. It certainly makes sense.
After all, the Knights Templar were unjustly accused and executed for crimes at the whim of an adversary. The Knights of the Jedi Order (and Padawans, younglings and Masters) were unjustly accused and slaughtered for crimes at the whim of an adversary.
