"I need to do some emergency gloating." ~Han Solo

You know you follow too many fan activities when...
I was watching the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi recently and suddenly realized that I no longer can watch one of the SW movies without associating it with some kind of fan activity.

For example:

-In the first scene on Dagobah, Artoo gets swallowed by the creature from the black lagoon. Luke calls out to him. Well, in Pink 5 Strikes Back, there's an addendum to this scene. Stacey (Pink 5) is nearby and not entirely sure of what's going on.

Stacey: The point is, I'm not an idiot!
Luke (off-screen): Artoo?
Stacey: Am not!
Luke: ARTOO!
Stacey: AM NOT! (Silence) That's what I thought.

So every time I see Luke yelling "Artoo!" I say "AM NOT!" because it's just too funny.

The same thing happens when I watch Return of the Jedi and Palpatine is visible for the first time. I just want to shriek "OH, GOD! Let's talk moisturizer!", which comes from Return of Pink 5, Volume 1.

-After Revenge of the Sith came out, there was a challenge to write stories about Order 66. I decided to write the story of the clonetrooper who missed Obi-Wan and explained it by saying that he had too much loyalty to his General and could not bear to kill him directly. Well, I called him Deadeye and I am told that there are many other people who look at Order 66 on Utapau and look for Deadeye's moment of glory.

-Perhaps the worst of all is the fact that after 11 years of reading fanfiction and 13 years of writing it, I have issues distinguishing between fanon and canon. For years, JediGaladriel wrote Sache, one of Padme's handmaidens, as Bail Organa's wife and I thought it made perfect sense, so was very confused when Breha came on the scene.

And then there are normal life instances. I'll get plot bunnies during church or at work. My friend Kateydidnt's kitchen table seems to be where I get my most evil plot bunnies. I'll read a news article and want to write a short story all of a sudden.

Perhaps it's good that I'm not able to renew just because this is another venue for being entirely too in love with Star Wars.
