Many, many years ago, when the world of young adult Star Wars books was just beginning, Lucasfilm Licensing made the unfortunate decision to hire writers Paul and Hollace Davids to write Star Wars books for kids. The result was Glove of Darth Vader, a book that kicked off a six-book saga. Glove of Darth Vader opens with the Rebels back on Yavin after ROTJ and sees the recovery of Vader's glove from the wreckage of the Death Star II. Yes, you read that right. The series was scrapped as an ongoing story after the first six books, and has since enjoyed the dubious (albeit well deserved) reputation of being the Holiday Special of Star Wars novels.
Like the Holiday Special, however, the series has been well integrated into the modern day Expanded Universe, most notably in the Jedi Academy Trilogy, the Essential Guides, and articles by Abel Pena. It is a favorite of those EU fans who enjoy off the beaten path sources. For those wondering how these books fit with the rest of the EU, I have created a absurdly extensive guide to the first book in the series. It is being posted in parts on the Star Wars Fan Association Website:

If you've never heard of the Glove of Darth Vader books, I suggest you head there right away and educate yourself. Otherwise, you might never know of a three-eyed mutant emperor, Vader's indestructible glove, Han Solo's skyhouse...and yes, even Mofferences. Go, learn. You can hate me for it later.
