In this blog I have collected all Nikto characters with a name in the movies. Especially in 'RotJ', they cause us a lot of troubles!

It all began with Kenner. First they released a figure called Klaatu in 1983 and then they released another Klaatu figure (in Skiff Guard Outfit) in 1984. I always wondered how that could be the same guy as they almost appeared on screen together on the Sail Barge and they appear together on photographs!

West End Games divided the Nikto species into several subspecies. In Galaxy Guide 12 they created the two (perhaps three) Nikto races visible on screen: the Kajain'sa'Nikto (or desert / red Nikto) and the Kadas'sa'Nikto (or green Nikto). That meant that Klaatu couldn't be the name of the species. During the prequels the mask and the hands of the Kajain'sa'Nikto were changed a bit, so maybe it's another sub-race.

Decipher finally lifted some secret curtains from the individual Nikto, but it also was the cause of more problems. They actually gave some characters two names ...

RETURN OF THE JEDI
Kadas'sa'Nikto
Wooof: This is the vintage 'Klaatu' figure. This character appears in Jabba's Throne Room as well as on the deck of the Khetanna. Wooof was one of Jabba's pilots and sometimes piloted Jabba's spacecruiser, the StarJewel. He has been named by Decipher and his name dates back to the production of the movie where it can be found on call-sheets, etc.

Giran: This Nikto can be seen at the Rancor pit, comforting Malakili. He was one of Malakili's helpers.

Yotts Orren: Decipher (and Leland Chee) stated that Yotts is in fact the Kadas'sa'Nikto with the beige outfit seen most clearly at the deck of the Khetanna. He is the Vintage 'Klaatu in Skiff Guard'. Yotts
Unknown 1 #: This Kadas'sa'Nikto appears on the 2nd Skiff at the Sarlacc. He looks like Giran, but wears a different cap. It could be Giran (because he's nowhere to be found during the battle), but this has not been confirmed.

Kajain'sa'Nikto
Nysad: He is the Kajain'sa'Niko who appears suddenly and laughs at the deck of the Khetanna. He pops-out of the interior of the Sail Barge. The same Nikto can also be seen (at photographs) standing next to Boba Fett, Bossk and Arden Crell. He wears the same outfit so it can be concluded that this is Nysad as well.

Vedain: This is the Nikto that pilots the heroes' Skiff during the Sarlacc Battle. He brawls with Lando and eventually ends up as a meal for the Sarlacc.

Vizam: This is the Nikto that fires the Blaster Cannon from the deck of the Khetanna at the Skiff of the heroes. He is the 'Potf II'-figure.

Unknown 2 #: This is the Kajain'sa'Nikto in blue attire that can be seen at the 2nd Skiff. He is the Vintage 'Nikto' figure. But he hasn't received a proper name yet.

Wooof, Yotts & Nysad in one picture

Problems: Decipher created problems when they ran out of imagination. Suddenly they gave characters that had already received a name, another new name! I think it might be better to ignore Lathe.

Mois Pardon / Parcon: Outlander patron. Name appears on call-sheet and is unclear.
Gondrin Upal: Nikto who travels in the Jendirian Valley.

- Nikto Jedi: Wears a dark brown robe at Geonosis. Hasbro's action figure.
- Nikto at Dex' Diner: There is a Kajain'sa'Nikto visiting Dex' Diner. The name Septo Waa appears from time to time, but that name has never been officially confirmed.

- J'oopi Shé: Kadas'sa'Nikto who leaves the briefing room on Coruscant. Picture in 'Chronicles: Prequels'. Got the name in the deluxe edition of 'Dressing'. (Thx to Leland Chee)
- Ma'kis'shaalas: Kajain'sa'Nikto who leaves the briefing room on Coruscant. Picture in 'Chronicles: Prequels' and appears in the 'Jedi Purge' comic. (Thx to Leland Chee)

The Nikto are a heavily used species in comics, RPG adventures and in novels. The Morgukai warriors are one of the most memorable.
