In this blog I've added all characters residing on Death Star I, except the Rebel Heroes. All characters have been officially confirmed. If you know anymore confirmed characters, please let me know.

DEATH STAR HIGH COMMAND:
# Death Star Triumvirate
- Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin: Commander of first Death Star.
- Admiral Motti: In charge of operations aboard DS I.
- General Cassio Tagge: Commander of the Imperial Fleet. Was concerned about the rise of the Rebellion.
# Others
- Darth Vader: Kept his eyes open aboard DS I
- 'Chief' Bast: Bast was one of the most senior officers aboard the DS I. He was present at the High Command meeting and sat left of Tagge. Curtis Saxton's Technical Commentaries website suggests that Bast could be a variant of a Major-General. Maybe he was the Naval Operations Chief, since Motti was the DS Operation Officer.
- 'Officer' Cass: Cass is the senior officer who reports to Tarkin that the remains of a Rebel base have been found on Dantooine. Cass was also present at the briefing and is therefore a senior officer. Curtis Saxton's Technical Commentaries website suggests that Cass could be a higher in command than a Major-General since he sports less code cylinders.

IMPERIAL SECURITY BUREAU:
- Colonel Wullf Yularen: Is the ISB officer in white uniform who sat next to Motti during the DS meeting.
- Officer Evax: Could be the 1st of two ISB officers seen when Chewie is transferred to AA-23.

OFFICERS:
- Captain Khurgee: Spoke to Vader about the Falcon aboard the Death Star. Ordered a scanning crew on the double
- Lieutenant Pol Treidum: Wondered was what wrong with TK-421.
- Lieutenant Shann Childsen: Chief warrant officer of AA-23.
- Lieutenant Tanbris: Former pilot ace. Told Lord Vader that several fighters had broken off from the main group.

DEATH STAR TROOPERS:
- Sergeant Major Enfield: Was part of Childen's team to guard AA-23. The left DS Trooper.
- Sergeant Torent: DS trooper was on guard on the overbridge. Known from the Vintage Kenner card image.
- Corporal Grenwick: One of the DS Troopers who escorted Vader when he tortured Leia.
- Corporal Prescott: One of the DT troopers who was on guard in AA-23 when Han & Luke came to rescue the Princess.
- Devin Cant: Was present in AA-23 when Luke & Han rescued Leia.
- Tajis Durmin: Stood guard at Tarkin's briefing room

STORMTROOPERS:
- TK-119: Victim of Luke & Leia.
- TK-421: Used by Luke to disguise himself.
- TK-422: Used by Han to duisguide himself.
- TK-875: Victim of Luke & Leia
- Tag Greenley: One of the troopers who gets distracted by Ben. (*)
- Bink Otuana: One of the troopers who get distracted by Ben. (*)

SCANNING CREW:
- BT-445: Scannng crew about the Falcon

IMPERIAL GUNNERS:
- Unknown Gunner: Fired the Turbolasers ...

- Black 2: DS-61-2 "Mauler Mithel": Vader's left wingman.
- Black 3: DS-61-3 Vader's right wingman.
- Black 4: DS-61-4 "Dark Curse": Scored a hit on Luke during the battle.

- Unknown Arfive Unit: There is a 'Hyperspace' picture where an Arfive Unit is seen next to a bunch of Stormtroopers.
- Two unknown high command officers during meeting
- Unknown Death Star Troopers: who covered themselves when superlaser was fired.
- Unknown Older officer - no insignia: Designated as Navy Lieutenant, but why doesn't he wear his insignia? Is he off-duty perhaps?
- Unknown Officer: Told Tarkin something when the Death Star had arrived near Alderaan.
- Unknown Officer that says 'Come with me'
- Unknown Second Officer that is shot down in detention block AA-23
- Unknown Imperial Ensign
- Unknown ISB Officers
- Unknown Death Star Troopers who escorted Leia to the overbridge (Enfield & Grenwick?)

Characters that have a name, but no face and could appear in the movie (**):
- The Ragga Hocce: were a group of bounty hunters on contract to the Empire. They were aboard the first Death Star when the project was still classified. (Thx to Pablo Hidalgo)
- Imperial Officer Roeg was a gantry officer posted in one of the many General Sectors aboard the first Death Star. (Thx to Pablo Hidalgo)
- Captain Gosden (Galaxy Guide I)
- Captain Kornov (Death Star Technical Companion)
- Major Calders: is described as wearing a moustache, so it's unlikely he's in the movie (idem)
