'Complete Integration of the Animal in the SW' Chapter IV: Etymological Use
In the fourth chapter of the study of the Complete Integration of the Animal in the SW universe', we take a look at the Etymological influences of creatures.

Creatures that give their name to an object. It does not only happen in the 'SW'-universe, it happens on earth as well. Once more, we'll have a look at cars. What about the jaguar or mustang? Many sport teams - whether they play soccer or American football - have a nickname of an animal. And boy scouts often receive an animal name as well.

We will gather the most important Etymological references from the 'SW'-movies in this chapter. Enjoy!

1. Iconography
2. Linguistic Use
3. Metaphorical Use
4. ETYMOLOGY
5. Designs
6. Creatures & Art
7. Sport & Entertainment

- Jeh Bonegnawer: This restaurant in Mos Eisley got its name from the Bonegnawer, native to Tatooine (see Chapter I).

- Narglatch: This predator from Naboo gave its name to a firm that was known for the construction of several Airspeeder models. The XJ-2 (Bail Organa) and XJ-6 (Anakin and Obi-Wan in 'AotC') were popular models. The Narglatch is a solitary carnivore that hunts in the swamps and forests.

- Octuptarra: One of the CIS' attack Droids was named after an unusual creature native to Skako (the home world of Wat Tambor). The Droid seemed to mirror the creature's appearance. It had a gas filled head with eight eyes and thin legs. The creature also influenced the design of the Droid (Chapter 5).

- Oevvaor: This was a predatory marine creature that preyed on the shores of Kashyyyk's beaches. The Jet Catamaran was named Oevvaor in honor of this creature.

If you know any object in 'Star Wars' named after a creature from the 'Star Wars'-universe, please let me know! No 'EU' after 'RotJ' please. Thanks.
