Hammerhead, Walrusman and Prune Face: Outdated Kenner names Roster
In this blog I've collected all the names of the Vintage Kenner figures that are outdated today.

Every fan will agree that Vintage Star Wars deserves a medal for everything it has done for the fans and Star Wars itself. But much has changed since the eighties. Especially the knowledge of the 'SW'-universe itself has undergone a tremendous change.

The names that Kenner gave to their figures are by modern standards sometimes outdated or even wrong. They gave general names like 'Rebel Commando' to create troop builders; they gave production names like 'Hammerhead' (since no real name existed) or they simply mixed up names like Zuckuss.

I have provided the correct names of these characters. If they would be released tomorrow, they'd probably get this name.

# 4-LOM: This is an easy and probably one of the most infamous ones. 4-LOM is of course Zuckuss. West End Games corrected the mistake. Kenner mixed up their names.
# AT-AT Commander: Since there is only one Imperial Officer onscreen in the cockpit of an AT-AT, this must be General Veers. In fact, this figure was named General Veers in an exclusive Canadian release.
# Barada: While the photo on this figure's card depicts Barada (white shirt), the figure is in fact Kithaba (yellow shirt).
# Bespin Guard Black: The picture on this figure's card shows the Bespin Guard who accompanies Boba Fett to the Slave I with the frozen Han Solo. This dark skinned guard is called Sergeant Edian.
# Death Star Droid: This particular RA-7 unit recently received it's proper name in WTS. It's called 3B6-RA-7.
# Gamorrean Guard: Based on the type of Vibro-axe, the Gamorrean seen on the card is called Thug. However, the idea of naming it as a generic member of its species is perfect understandable.
# Hammerhead: The only Ithorian to appear in 'ANH' is Momaw Nadon. Notice that Nadon doesn't wear a blue shirt at all. He wears brown clothes.
# Imperial Commander: On this figure's card we can see - once more - General Veers while he reports to Darth Vader. So we could pretend this to be another, regular version of Veers. But then again, why is the uniform black instead of grey? No black uniformed Officers were seen wearing this figure's insignia in the movies.
# Imperial Dignitary: This Imperial Advisor is called Sim Aloo.
# Klaatu: According to Decipher this Kadas'sa'Nikto is called Wooof, an original production name.
# Klaatu Skiff Guard: This Kadas'sa'Nikto is called Yotts Orren according to Decipher and Leland Chee. Klaatu is yet another Nikto, but it's not really certain which one.
# Power Droid: The Power Droid in the Jawa Sandcrawler was EG-6. However, the white stripe on the Droid could also mean that this is the Power Droid seen at the Lars Farm. In that case, his name is still unknown (thx to Gold 5 for the hint).
# Prune Face: The only Dressellian with an eye patch in the movies is Orrimaarko.
# Rancor Keeper: The proper name of the Rancor Keeper is Malakili.
# Snaggletooth: On the card of the regular Snaggletooth we can see the Snivvian from the Holiday Special called Rachalt Hyst by Decipher and confirmed by Leland Chee.
# Snaggletooth Blue: The elusive 'Blue' Snaggletooth will most likely be based on Zutton, a Snivvian with blue garments.
# Squid Head: The only Quarren in the classics is called Tessek.
# Death Squad Commander / Star Destroyer Commander: On the card of this figure we can see Sergeant Torent, a Death Star Trooper from 'ANH'. But just as with the Imperial Commander, the uniform has the wrong color. It's grey instead of black and no Death Star / Naval Troopers are seen wearing insignia in the movies.
# Walrusman: This Aqualish is named Ponda Baba. The photo on the card is absolutely awkward and the clothing of the figure is totally wrong. He even has flippers instead of regular feet. This was probably due to the lack of decent photo material.
# Yak Face: This Yarkora was called Saelt-Marae when Hasbro released him in 1997.
# Zuckuss: Kenner switched the names of two Bounty Hunters. This figure is in fact 4-LOM.
# Dulok Shaman: The Shaman of the Duloks was called Umwak in the Animated Series.

UNKNOWN:
# Amanaman: This Amanin still hasn't received an official name.
# AT-AT Driver: This character still hasn't received an official name. He could be Lieutenant Nyrox, but it's not certain he was one of the AT-AT Drivers in Blizzard 1.
# AT-ST Driver: This name isn't really incorrect. He could be called 'Imperial Army Trooper' as well. Since no picture of the actual character is seen on the card it is unknown who he actually represents. But this is another example of Kenner's excellent troop builders.
# Bespin Guard (white): This bearded Bespin Guard hasn't received an official name.
# Cloud Car Pilot: None of the Bespin Guards who pilot the Twin Pod Cloud Cars have received an official name yet.
# Nikto: This Kajain'sa'Nikto still hasn't received a proper name.
# Rebel Commando: Although it's perfect understandable that Kenner named this as a generic Commando, the Commando pictured on the card hasn't got a proper name.
# Rebel Commander: The photo of the card shows Jeroen Webb, but Webb is clearly not the figure. The figure itself is based on the character played in a cameo by visual effects guy Harrison Ellenshaw. This character doesn't have an official name.
# Rebel Soldier: The Echo Base Trooper on the card hasn't got a name. The figure is not based on that character but on some Rebel seen inside Echo Base. It is unclear who that character is.
# Ugnaught: The Ugnaught pictured on the card hasn't received a proper name yet.

If you have any ideas what Vintage names should get an update, please let me know.
