It was just a year ago this past weekend that thousands of Star Wars fans converged on Indianapolis with nothing but RotS on their minds. I still recall nearly every conversation I had with people I only knew for mere moments about the one thing that all of us had in common - insatiable love for everything Star Wars.
My wife & I drove down to Indy and stayed at (I can't recall for the life of me the name of the hotel) the hotel that is a train station. Just driving to the hotel & seeing all the fans outside the convention center in full costume was enough to pick my Star Wars excitement up a few more levels. The entire weekend was a blast & I wouldn't have changed anything I did those 4 days for pure enjoyment & fun.
Waiting out in the rain 2 mornings in a row for numerous hours wasn't much fun...but it's not like anyone can control the weather. Waking up at 3 in the morning to wait in line to buy a toy is something I never thought I would do in my life, but 6.5 hours later I stumbled back to the hotel room with my collection of Vader action figures - I think my wife is still baffled that I would wait in the cold/rain before the sun was up for a toy, but it is one cool toy. I debated with myself for quite a while whether or not I should've gone in the Lucas line or wait for the shop to open...right now I'm still glad with my decision of getting the toys since I can now listen to the Lucas stuff on Hyperspace
Seeing the first HD shots of RotS with a room full of crazed fans is something I'll never forget. Seeing a huge amount of the 501st walking around in full uniform was quite impressive. Heck, everyone in costume was a blast to be a part of.
I for one hope there is a Celebration IV...the fun I had last year in Indy was quite the trip and being able to do that all over again is something I would gladly wait in any line for rain or shine.
