Angels & Airwaves must love AotC
So I'm sitting in traffic on my drive home from work the other day and look down at my MP3 player to see what song is currently playing (obviously I haven't listened to that album much to recognize who it is) and I see it's from the new Angels & Airwaves album I-Empire. I've seen the album cover before and thought it looked eerily familiar to a Star Wars poster. As fate would have it, the next song up is off the AotC soundtrack and BAM it hits me that was what had been bothering me about the A&A album cover...it looks just like one of Drew Struzan's creations.

Now obviously they aren't perfectly identical, but they are fairly close in the close grouping of the band members heads, some standard lens flare off a planet, background coloring with stars & the oranges. Even the album art with the guy on the motorcycle reminds me of Anakin on the speeder bike when he goes to find his mother.

Another interesting tidbit is the album title, I-Empire. Anakin slowly started gaining more hatred & the Empire was coming closer & closer to being formed by Palpatine in AotC....maybe I'm just thinking too much on this :D

Maybe I'm the only one that thinks this, or perhaps you all have discussed this previously but I didn't notice any other entries discussing this :p

Yeah, the similarities of very striking, especially when given the title. Do any of the songs carry themes from Star Wars?

Very cool album cover...Star Wars meets Pink Floyd. I've always wondered if Dark Side of the Moon was a direct Star Wars reference. Angels & Airwaves has made it one.

You've gotta be right -- too coincidental otherwise!

Im a big Angels and Airwaves and Starwars fan and i actually remember the day i bought the I-Empire album, I could never really get into their first album "We dont need to whisper" but when I seen the album cover of I-Empire I automatically went and bought it because of the fact it reminded me of Starwars...

Man its such a good album!
