Well, Memorial Day weekend has just passed and since I had a day off from work on Monday, I figured I'd go home and see the folks. Now my parents like Star Wars...it's rather hard not to with me growing up and all. They aren't hardcore fans like me...or even really big fans. I'd just say they like them all, quite a bit.

So I took them to see Revenge of the Sith on Friday evening and here's what I picked up from them over the weekend concerning the film:

-They both really liked it, my mother going as far as saying it's her second favorite behind A New Hope. My dad wouldn't say, but he wanted to watch The Empire Strikes Back Saturday evening so I figure one of those two is his favorite.

-Mom asked about five times who Bail Organa was, she couldn't remember his name, Alderaan, Senator or even Jimmy Smits' name (even though she claims to have loved him on L.A. Law.

-Dad wondered what Temeura Morrison was doing back in the film since he got beheaded in the last one. Guess he missed the whole Clone Army part.

-The "what if" in the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise flew completely over their heads and as far as they're concerned it's just a talk about the dark side.

-Samuel L. Jackson's acting was weak...but Hayden's and Natalie's weren't (my dad has been a fan of Hayden since Attack of the Clones).

-Mom enjoys Jar Jar but missed him in the funeral procession and his one line.

-Yoda knocking the two Red Guards out made them both laugh gleefully (and the rest of the theatre too...I wonder what it is about that?)

-They were very surprised over Vader's Force choke action against Padmé.

-Overall they thought the movie was very good.

So anyway, maybe that'll shed a new light onto what Average Joe and Average Jane thought about the movie. Sometimes, being the huge fans we are (I mean come on, we're paying for this...) it's hard to distance ourselves and look through the eyes of someone else.
