I was about 7 or 8 years old when The Phantom Menace came out. Old enough to remember it, but not old enough to really analyze it. What did I think?
Amazing. I mean, I had seen movies before, but when you're 8 years old you like colors. You like exciting sequences. You don't care about that acting. You don't care about the plot. Now don't get me wrong - I understood basically what was going on, but not completely.

I was a 8-year-old cute blonde boy, just like Jake Lloyd. I related to him. When Yoda said "Your mother, miss her you do?" I thought exactly what Anakin said "What does that got to do with anything?" I also loved the lightsabers. The colors. I loved darth maul......... oops. Wait, this is about star wars music. Back on topic:

So from then I was hooked. Now, today I have every episode's soundtrack. Why? Because John Williams is a genius. When people hear the phrase "star wars music" they just start humming the main title. But thats not it! There's duel of the fates, across the stars, the force theme, imperial march, emperor's theme, princess leia's theme, ewok's theme, themes without names, that beautiful piece of music from the final lightsaber fight in episode 6.......

Let me tell you something: I make movies. Short films. You know, I have a video camera, and computer, a cell phone, an ipod, I'm a teenager. I love making movies. I've done a bunch of little things with some homemade frame-by-frame special effects (lightsabers, force lightning, etc.) lots of my movies are like star wars fan films. When I go to bed I can lie awake for hours in the dark, but listening to my ipod (nano, it's SOOO thin!) "brainstorming" for movies. What am I listening on my ipod? Music that might fit the scene I'm thinking of/creating. It's hard to explain, but I love soundtrack music. Not just star wars, though it is the best. I love all of william's scores (though war of the worlds was a disapointment) and it's soooooo inspiring and fun and THATS why I love star wars.
