Star Wars Revolution
Star Wars Revolution is a fan-made Star Wars Roleplaying site. I am one of it's administrators and decided to a Pros and Cons style blog entry on the site. Do not worry, I don't do this in order to "pimp" my site, I do it so see what you think of the site yourself and to see if you agree with me or disagree. With that said, shall we begin?

The Pros of Star Wars Revolution
First off, I consider SWR (Star WarsRevolution) to be a one of a kind site. As far as I know, it is the only site of it's kind because it is so sophisticated. But let's drop down to the basics.

- A Good Community: During my time at SWR, all of the members have been generous and helpful. The whole community itself has a friendly kind of atmosphere. New members are helped and instructed in what to do and how the forum works by the elder members of by the staff itself. Self expression and even the wacky side of people's personality is embraced.

- Roleplaying fun for Everyone: The forum is based on "Free RP," meaning that you can do anything in the Roleplay. There are no set time periods as to what era the board is in, so the New Republic coexists with the Sith Order, even though both "factions" never existed in the same timeline. When roleplaying, you can do almost whatever pops into your mind. You can be anyone from the Star Wars universe, or even make up your own character and Bio for that character.

- Post for credits: Each time you make a post that is over 40 characters in length, you receive money to be used by your RP character. That money can be used to buy ships, droids, weapons, armor and even rare items like holocrons.

- Join your favorite faction: SWR has many "factions" or teams that you can join. You can either help them out in a Roleplay, or sneak into their ranks and spy. Among some of the few "factions" are the New Republic, Mandalorian Unified Clans, The Empire and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This allows the Roleplayer to choose where their destiny takes them and where their loyalties lie.

- A Reputation System: SWR has system where you can gain "reputation." Reputation or "rep" can serve to elevate your status in the general community.

The Cons of Star Wars Revolution:
As with all sites, SWR has it's share of problems. Here a some of the problems of SWR

- Spamming: SWR has it's fair share of spam. Now, I am not refering to spam in the sense of mindless rants, I am refering to going off topic during a discussion or Roleplay. Usually it is accidental, but it a problem that plagues SWR. Though it is not annoying and easy to avoid, it is still there and sometimes can lower the thrill of roleplaying or participating.

- Some Trolls: In the past, many trolls have visited SWR and have caused some "damage." But as usual, most trolls and quickly dealt with and the damage repair, but nevertheless, there are still some on SWR who have a crafty way of hiding themselves.

- RP wars: Sometimes, the roleplay wars between factions can cause a slight feeling of hostility on the board. This occurs because most members of SWR take devotion to their faction very seriously and are always willing to fight to either defend their faction or crush their enemy. While the feeling doesn't make the board unpleasant, the board can become an dangerous place (In character of course) to members of opposing factions.

-Tensions can arise: Some of SWR's members are what I like to call sore losers. Sometimes, when they lose a battle or their IC character dies, they complain like there's no tomorrow. Yet when circumstances are reversed, they say nothing. Remember, not everyone on the board is like this, only a few.

For now, that is all I can think off. If more comes to mind I will certainly edit it in, wether it's a Pro or a Con. Thank you for taking time to read this entry and I hope you enjoyed it. Also, if you do visit the site and notice a problem, please inform me either through a blog comment or an email. Your feedback will help me do my job on SWR and make SWR a better place to be and help eradicate it's flaws. Again, thank you for your time and enjoy.
