Star Wars Revolution v2
A Review of Star Wars Revolution (v2's predecessor)

That's right folks, it's another critique of my website, Star Wars Revolution. Only this time, our lead Administrator (Anubis) has created a new site, a means to start fresh called Star Wars Revolution 2, or "v2" as we've dubbed it. So, I felt it only right to give you a review of the site. Both it's good and bad sides.

Pros:

- A fresh start: As with most new sites, we are starting from scratch. Nothing that occured on v1 has any baring on the events of v2. You have a brand new slate.

- Enjoyable Community: Most of our members and very kind hearted and accepting. While we have our share of rotten apples, overall i'd like to think that our community is nice and relaxing.

- Roleplay till you heart's content, but with a twist: Just like on v1, you can join any "faction" you wish, or simply roam the galaxy as a freelancer. But on this version, you must pass roleplay tests, to prove your level of skill. If you "fail" the test, do not worry. The staff will instruct classes on the basics of roleplaying and give you personal lessons. This is to hopefully improve the quality of roleplaying on the site.

- Earn credits for your posts: As with v1, v2 feautres a "credit" system whereby you earn credits (site money) which can be used to purchase "items" on the site. All for use in the Roleplay.

- Gain a Reputation: Another feature from v1, the reputation system is used to boast your "rep" or "karma." The higher your rep is, they better your standing is in the community. rep points are given out by fellow members, and serve to boast your self-esteem in a sense. Take it from me, a rep point on a shady day can be quite enjoyable.

Cons:

- Now with time constrictions: Unlike v1, v2 has a set time era. V2's time period is just before the events of KOTOR, and in an "alternate universe" of sorts. None of the events that will occur in KOTOR have and sway on v2. Also, everything is now canonical. The ability to create/invent new ships/technology/etc is not available. This ability was abused on v1 and has been removed regretfully.

- Test your skill: As I said before, v2 will feature roleplay tests. They may prove to be a pain as they are quite lengthy. In my personal opinion, they are well worth it as they help you grow as a roleplayer. If you do not take a roleplay test however, you will not be allowed to roleplay.

- Spam...to a degree: The general level of spam on v2 has been reduced, but it is still a reoccuring problem, as is topics going "off topic."

- Beware of the Trolls....somewhat: While I am proud to say that v2 has no active trolls, we do have a small group of banned members who attempt to sock. Their goal is to cause trouble, but we deal with them quickly. Still, beware the troll and socker.

- Use of canon characters is prohibited: As a rule of v2, no one may use, refer to, or include any character from the KOTOR series into their character bio and history. In fact, no character from the official (meaning exists on starwars.com, wookieepedia, any star wars novel/comic, etc) Star Wars universe may be used in any way shape or form on v2.

When more comes to mind, I shall add it to this review. Wether it be good or bad.
