Gahmah has heard some people say that Qui-Gon Jinn isn't important. Well,......yeah, he is.
Gahmah doesn't have much to say here, but Gahmah will try to be as explanatory as Gahmah can.
What makes people think he is so unimportant to the prequels. "His existence is pointless" doesn't buy it.
He was Obi-Wan's mentor, sure. But that isn't the only reason for his existence.
He is the first Jedi Anakin (and I'm assuming the mostly-OT bound fans also call him "Little Vader"

) ever meets. He is the one who senses his force-sensitivity. He is the one who helps Anakin win the podrace for freedom with a little advice. He is the one that frees him from slavery. He is the one that recommends him for Jedi training, even though they don't allow it at first. He teaches Anakin a few stuff during the Battle of Naboo before his last fight with Darth Maul. He is also the one that convinces Obi-Wan to train Anakin with his dying words. Besides, he's the one who is responsible for teaching Obi-Wan and Yoda how to achieve life after death.
Other than that stuff in the above paragraph, he was like a father figure to both Anakin (which didn't last too long) and Obi-Wan.
Without him, we couldn't have had Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin become force ghosts, just like we can't have either trilogy without the other. Besides, Gahmah's not a Star Wars fan to take sides.
Okay,
this is why Qui-Gon is important.
With luck, this should get the picky fans that say "Qui-Gon wasn't important." to stay silent here.
Comments are welcome, but don't forget what Gahmah can do to those that break the peace here.
P.S. In case those who are interested in my artwork don't know, it has been updated yesterday.
