Evolution of the Basilisk
In KOTOR2, did you notice that the Basilisk War Droid looked like a StarViper (Virago)? That's not what Basilisks are supposed to look like.

Maybe that salvaged Basilisk was rebuilt that way for going into space without a space suit.

The Virago was created by MandalMotors, a company founded by Mandalorians. Basilisks were also created by Mandalorians. I think the salvaged Basilisk was rebuilt and modified and became the first StarViper to ever exist.

So, that might mean that the Virago descended from the Basilisk.

What do you think?

Is the ship alive? Because the Basilisk War Droid were like animals, solo loyal the their Mandalorian owner.

Ok I *think* this is how this has been retconned.
A Basilisk War Droid looks like this.

The StarViper looks like this KOTOR2 based their Basilisk War Droid off the StarViper, so it has been retconned as that being a "Basilisk Starfighter" which was indeed a ancient predecesor to the StarViper.

Wait a minute, if the Onderonians knew that was a Basilisk when it landed, then that means it wasn't rebuilt in a new way and the Basilisks that looked like the StarViper were probably the neo-crusader versions (kinda like the way the Mandalorian armor changed).
