Gahmah just had recent thought that connects the films and KOTOR.

For a fact, the Sith in KOTOR have technology that almost looks similar to that of the Galactic Empire.

Here's a similarity guide to this tech.


Sith Empire | Galactic Empire

Sith Trooper | Stormtrooper - though the two types of armor have different designs and the Sith Trooper armor is shinier, both types of armor have the same color pattern.

Sith Fighter | TIE Fighter - as the databank entry suggested, the Sith fighters have some similarities to TIE fighters. In the game, they have similar engine and laser-fire sounds.

Sith Interdictor (like the Leviathan) | Star Destroyer - they both have similar designs.


It would seem that the Galactic Empire is the Sith Empire reborn.


Also here are some time connections with technology.

Republic Ships during Mandalorian Wars | Republic Ships during Clone Wars - After both wars, these ships revert from Republic to Sith Empire and from Republic to Galactic Empire.

Republic tech during and after Sith War | Rebel/New Republic tech - they both appear similar, including the ships and armor.
