The Hutts? A Powerful Race? I think NOT!!!

You might know that most people fear the Hutts and are controlled by them. How did that ever happen?

Come on! I think they are just this: fat, lazy, short-armed, giant slugs (with the exception of that Jedi Hutt for lazy) that unknowingly became almighty (which they are not). How are giant slugs a threat?

Maybe they're like sumo wrestlers because they weigh a lot but I doubt they could beat a real sumo wrestler because they can hardly move. What I'm saying is they could easily kill someone by crushing them.

or

Maybe people were afraid of them because they think slugs are scary and gross.

In my opinion, the Hutts deserve less than what they usually get and are too weak to defend themselves.

date Posted: Oct 26, 2005 7:07 PM Remember the Hutts resemble the Huns(in name and power at least). The Hutts are Gansters and use other people(bounty hunters, mercs., etc.) to do there bidding for them. They also had a very powerful empire in the post-Infinate Empire(Rataka) period and pre-Republic period.

well how does anyone else get power? they control commerce, providing goods to people who need them. Anyone who has played ELITE knows that you buy stuff from an agricultural place and sell it at an industrial place and vice versa. the hutts would have known this and created a commerical empire. with all the money made from selling legit stuff, they would be able to hire people to pilot their freighters etc. when they turned to crime, they just 'buy' their hired hands to do their bidding as suggested above.

I mean how many kings/godfathers etc are actually physically powerful themselves? it was brains (or divine right) which got them there, not their own muscle!

They did prove themselves physically sort of. One example is how they got the Gammoreans to work for them. The Gammoreans would only work for poeple who could beat them in a fight, and Jabba tricked them into blindfolding themselves for a twelve against one fight. Once the blindfolds were on a bunch of his guards came in and beat them up. The Hutts might of used tricks like this to get people to work for them many times over.
