In the Star Wars universe, I noticed that some characters have full names that can hide relationships.
In KOTOR, there are two Ithorians that live on Tatooine, Yuka Laka and Yuka Rill.
If you finished the Tatooine swoop races before buying HK-47, Yuka Laka says that his brother is swoop racer (possibly Yuka Rill).
How can they be brothers (different Ithorian skin color doesn't count)?
They don't share the same last name, but they do share the same first name, which is Yuka.
Do Ithorians have a different naming system than most species?
Perhaps an Ithorian's first name is their family surname (like our last names are our's).
Could this be the answer?
Also, in other parts of the Star Wars universe, I noticed that some characters only have a first name or a last name for their full name.
For example, Ackbar, there are other Ackbars, but what was his first name? If they just called him Ackbar, wouldn't he be confused with another Ackbar?
I noticed most Zabraks have two-name full names, but does Bao-Dur have a real full name. If you only have a first name, wouldn't it be hard to tell who you are related to (besides physical features)?
Other races, such as Dugs and Wookiees seem to always have a first name only. Again, wouldn't it be hard to identify their family if they don't have a last name.
Also, Yoda and Yaddle seem to have their own one-name full names, but Vandar Tokare has a two-name full name.
There are others, but I can't list them all.
These creatures could end up getting mixed up with other families in their race.
