Battlefront II PSP Review
We all like Battlefront 2 (ok, maybe not all of us), right? So do I.

Recently, I got the PSP version of the game.

It is portable, but it doesn't make the console version worth selling.

It is not as good as the console version, but it is still good to have around when you are not at home.

Now, I will give you reviews on the parts of the game.

It lacks a story mode, which really makes the universe feel smaller to me.

It has 3 new special challenge modes only on that version (I think to compensate for the missing story mode):
Imperial Enforcer: You get to hunt indigenous species such as Gungans (I don't hate Jar Jar [but I don't really like him], but if anyone wants to send an angry mob or assasins after his race, I'm not going to stop them, but I'm not getting involved) (if you're a Jar Jar hater, go ahead and cheer) and Ewoks (not as hard as hunt mode) for the Empire.
Rogue Assasin: You play as a bounty hunter (he looks like a Clone Jet Trooper in Phase 1 armor [yes, he can fly] and is armed with a blaster rifle, blaster pistol, thermal detonators, and a fusion cutter) and have to kill some key military officers.
Rebel Raider: Take a guess: You steal stuff for the Rebel Alliance.

The controls are tricky (and one time I was playing the console version, I almost pressed the wrong button). I have less reflexes on this one.

Some of the Instant Action maps are missing (I'm not going to list the space battles): Coruscant, Death Star, Utapau, Felucia, Geonosis, Kamino, Jabba's Palace.

Graphics aren't as great (even the Mustafar lava doesn't look like Mustafar lava)

Some maps are incomplete: Mustafar and Polis Massa (those are the only ones I can think of).

There is no talking (except for grunting and sounds that NPCs are always making).

Space battles aren't as big (the insides of the capital ships only have hangars and neither the capital ships nor the frigates have turrets).

Only 2 maps for space battles (the background remains the same also)

The AI is good...and bad. The enemy AI are smart enough to tick you off sometimes (when I was playing the Empire on Galactic Conquest, it seemed that almost all of the AI were playing as Bothan Spies, being invisible and all). The enemy AI is more annoying than tactical (though sometimes being an annoyance is a tactic).

Changing weapons takes longer (you have to cycle through all of them to get to the weapon you want to use).

I have to repeatedly relive the nightmare of being defeated by the Ewoks on hunt mode again (this one doesn't count)

I don't have all of my legendary medals (this one doesn't count either).

Like most games ported from console to portable, it ain't as good as the console version. The controls are tacky, thus making it harder; it seems the Droid Engineer is missing; and it is a bit incomplete.

I give this game a 6 out of 10.

The moral here: When porting a game to a system with different control scheme, don't hesitate to push back the release date and put more effort into it. Otherwise, it will become an inferior counterpart.
