I heard that ever since Palpatine killed Plagueis, he never, ever, ever, (10 minutes later, but not really) ever, ever slept since Plagueis was killed in his sleep.
How can he go his whole life without sleep (except for the times before he killed Plagueis)? It might be the Force that keeps him awake all the time.
I understand that he is trying make sure that no one assassinates him, but it is not a healthy life. He could sleep in a private room with magnetically-sealed doors and windows made of cortosis (but the switch to turn them off would have to be inside the room, otherwise he would be stuck inside forever).
I know that there are people that only need 5 hours of sleep, but I can't imagine someone with 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds of sleep. I don't understand how he doesn't fall asleep unintentionally. It looks like he could use a few days of sleep, or weeks, or months, or...years, but he would have to go into hibernation by going into a freezing capsule with a timer on it (but not carbonite, because it can only unfreeze manually).
