Jar Jar Binks: Clumsy by Destiny?
Before anyone gets any ideas, this not another one of those "I hate Jar Jar!" blog. First off, I don't really hate him (don't look at me like that!).

Most of us dislike him just because of (1) being clumsy, (2) talking stupid (is it his voice [he can't help that] or the way he talks?), (3) walking stupid (most Gungans do that, too), and (4) giving Palpatine emergency powers, starting the Clone Wars and the other events to come. But give him a break, because he is a catalyst to many of the events, including the eventual defeat of the Sith.

So, what if he's clumsy? If he wasn't at first, then these events that would lead to ultimate defeat of the Sith would never have happened. We can blame him a little bit for the near-extinction of the Jedi, but his actions would lead also to Anakin Skywalker's redemption, even though he might not know it.

Now here is a chain of some events:

If he wasn't clumsy in the first place, he might not have been banished from Otoh Gunga.

If he wasn't banished, Qui-Gon Jinn would never have found him.

If Qui-Gon never found him, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would never have found Otoh Gunga.

If they never found Otoh Gunga, they wouldn't have found a way to get to Theed fast enough.

If Qui-Gon didn't tag him along, a lot of things wouldn't have happened, including getting to Theed quickly, and then later finding Anakin.

If he didn't tag along, the Gungans and the Naboo wouldn't have formed a treaty.

Without the uniting of the Gungans, the Battle of Naboo would hardly be a victory.

For the events that happen that are related to Anakin's redemption:

He is partly responsible for Anakin meeting Padmé, which leads to their marriage, that leading to the birth of Luke and Leia, which leads to Anakin Skywalker's redemption 23-24 years later, and the defeat of the Sith, even if he doesn't know it.

Of course, he did start the Clone Wars, which would cause Anakin's fall to the dark side (Palpatine is the real b*stard that took advantage of his foolishness, so don't blame Jar Jar too much, but instead, you can already blame Palps for everything that lead to Anakin's fall), but again, he was also partly responsible for his redemption.

Is it possible that him being clumsy wasn't really a coincidence, but caused by destiny? Could Boss Nass have really been a Force adept outside the Jedi Order, which Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan couldn't sense, that sensed the survival of the Sith and foresaw their eventual defeat. He might have also sensed that it was Jar Jar's destiny to be banished from Otoh Gunga, but he had to wait just to come up with a reason for banishing him.

So there, Jar Jar might have been a catalyst with an unknown destiny, and Qui-Gon was right to tag him along after all. If you have have any comments, go ahead and post them here, but if all you have to say is "I hate Jar Jar!" (or anything in that category)......GET OFF MY PROPERTY!!!! *threatens to take off mask* And you really don't want to know what I look like without my mask! Don't worry, I'm not going to snap just at anyone, so don't be afraid to post.
