A Review of Betrayal
I just finished reading the first book of the Legacy of the Force series, Betrayal. First off let me point out that I have not read very much of the expanded universe books. All my knowlegde of the Solo children and the New Jedi Order comes from the databank and other sites. So I do have familiarity with the characters and the major events that shaped their lives to this point. I'll refrain from any major spoilers so those of you who have not read it can read this entry. Now on to the review.

The first 100+ pages of the book are really great. There was a lot suspense built up that carried the rest of the book. There is some great insight into the characters and how the Yuuzhan Vong war has affected everyone, Jacen and Ben in particular. The character development of Jacen and Ben is really well done and reminded me a lot of the character development In Ender's Game.

The rest of the book sort of "resets" and builds up the suspense for the dramatic conclusion. Again I would rather leave out any specifics about what actually happens, but I can say I was thoroughly entertained. There is a lot action for all the main characters, Jacen and Ben mostly, as well as Han, Leia, and Wedge. I would strongly recommend this book to any star wars fan. In fact I have recommended it to several of my friends who only know the 6 movies.

In short Betrayal is a good book and fun read - whether you are a die hard Star Wars fan or just a fan of good Science Fiction.
