Would You?
So I was reading Star Wars Ep. III again for like the third time. I honestly need to get another star wars book. :8} But thats another blog for another time...

Anyways after I was done I realized that though Anakin did have a lust for power and an un-willingness to progress slowly through the jedi ranks, he did it out of the best intentions. All for the love of his life, Padmè Amidala. I mean after his loss of his mother all Anakin wanted was more power to save anyone that he loved from dying. And when he had preminitions of Padmè dying of child birth. Then he couldnt wait any longer. His time was already limited to the birth-date of the child. This ment that he would have to progress to a jedi master level, in order to gain access to certain holocrons that were only available to those jedi in the master rank (as stated in the novel). So when Palpatine arose with the proposition that would make Anakin on the jedi council, and possibly a master, he couldnt refuse. The love of his life was on the line and this had to be done. Despite the warnings of Obi-wan to be wary of Palpatine, Anakin had to accept his new proposition.

And so without hesitation, Palpatine once again interfered with jedi tradition placing Anakin on the council. But when Anakin was told he was not to be ranked a master, it was completely devastating. Not only could he not be what he has wanted for so long, but now he could not access holocrons only available to masters, that may save Padmè. Now that almost all hope was lost. Palpatine, deviously proposed to Anakin that he had special powers of sith descent that could help save Padmè. Now with his growing distrust of the jedi and a newly arised plan to help save the one he loves, was it at all surprising the path he took.

So given all this, all that is up for stake, Not Knowing how things turned out would you do the same thing, or do it differently?? Just put yourself in Anakins shoes...

I would have definetly done around the same thing as Anakin. Though the only thing that I might have done diferently was to tell Obi-wan before taking sides with Palpatine. Just put it into perspective,

The love of your life will most likely die of child-birth. Would you just sit back and wait while she dies, or take action and do everything necessary/possible to ensure that padmè lives to love you the rest of your life.
