The Star Wars Alphabet - N
Who or what is "N" the running?

I only had a few options that I was considering for "N." Among those were Nute Gunray, Nexu, Nien Nunb and Naboo. I was leaning toward Naboo at first. This looks like a great place to live. The landscapes are stunning. If you take out the frightening beasts in the water, that would be extra groovy. (NOTE: I am frightened of the ocean. A phobia since I was a child. Thanks JAWS).

My final ruling was to pick Nien Nunb. He gets little screen time, but should be considered one of the overlooked heroes of Return of the Jedi. He co-pilots the Millennium Falcon, which is a major task in itself.

I mean he has to be great because Lando takes him along and Lando doesn't hang out with just anyone.

By the time Jedi came out, I was starting to move away from toys (what was I thinking?). I did have his figure but I don't recall ever having him and Lando fly the Falcon together in my play scenarios. For some reason, I always thought his name was Nien Numb. Maybe I just dreamed it or misread. ?:|

We wrap up the week tomorrow. "'O' my," what will I choose?

And the actor who played him is a very nice man!

Great choice!

It's not?! :O

Wise choice. The thing I remember most about Nien Nunb is his laugh. Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh!

I agree; good choice. It would just be wrong to honor Nute Gunray in any way. Another thing I like about Nien Nunb (I think I always pronounced it "Numb" too :8} ) is that he speaks a real language. I can't remember which language, but on the ROTJ commentary they say people from that country went wild when they heard it in theaters. That's pretty cool. :)
