The Star Wars Alphabet - Y and Z
"Y?" - Because we like you.

Well my little green friend, we are coming to the end of my alphabet journey. As you can see, my choice for "Y" should not come as a surprise. Yoda is one of the greatest characters of film history and especially the Star Wars saga.

My personal feelings for this Jedi Master is that he is the heart for the Force. With his first appearance in Empire Strikes Back, we see that he has a sense of humor. We have to wait over 20 years to see his wild and mad lightsaber skills.

Yoda has also earned his image in pop culture. He is on US Postage stamps and endless toys. In fact, I am looking at a Pez dispenser of him on my desk.

He was one of my favorite figures when he was released by Kenner. I remember calling every toy store in town. We lived in Evansville, Indiana at the time and there were not a lot of places that carried toys. We did not have a Toys R Us or Kay B. Target and Walmart did not exist yet either. My choices were mostly comic stores, drug stores, Sears, JC Penney, KMart and a couple of local toy stores. We finally found him at a drug store but he did not have his cane. It did not matter to me and my mom got him. Thanks ma! I eventually got another Yoda (after a chewing of my original one by the dog). This time he had his cane. Unlike today, they could not keep him on the shelves.

I also had the hand puppet. I remember hours of play with this. Yoda used to sit in my backpack as I would do Jedi "exercises" throughout the yard and house. Good times. :)

My other choices for "Y" include Y-Wing fighters and Yavin IV. I thought about Yaddle, but what can I say about her?

For "Z", I chose Zuckuss. He's a bounty hunter and that's about all I know about that. My other choice is another bounty hunter - Zam Wessel. But she/it freaks me out a bit.

Well folks, thanks for reading. I have a few ideas of other things I want to blog about soon. I have one subject that I have waited almost three years to write and will probably do that next.

May the Force be with you always!
