The Star Wars Alphabet - G
Excuse me while I cough up a lung!

The first thought I had for "G" was General Grievous, so I am sticking with it. Sorry Geonosis, Gamorrean Guards, and Greedo. I wanted to give some prequel love.

We first see this warrior in the Clone Wars animated series (the first one) and later in Revenge of the Sith. He is a bad (well you know). This was the first time introducing a character that could use multiple lightsabers and hold his own against Jedi's. In fact, he defeats several.

In many ways, he is a predecessor to Darth Vader. Unlike Vader who will be a much more advanced cyborg, he has weaknesses including a terrible cough and easily exposed organs that will lead to his demise. He is all white, making it unclear which side he is fighting on. Similarly, he reports directly to Darth Sidious and obeys his every command.

Another thing I like about him is his wheel bike as it tears through the landscape of Utapau leaving destruction in it's wake.

I don't have any Grievous collectibles other than the Unleashed figure which I feel is a great likeness. If I had the space and funds, I would add the Kotobukiya. Maybe someday.

At Celebration III, someone created an awesome General Grievous costume. This was based on very little sources. I believe he or she won for best costume in the contest and rightfully so.

Thanks to George Lucas and Dave Filoni, we will get to see more of him with the new Clone Wars movie and TV series.

So clear your throat, take a Halls Mentho-Lyptus, and salute the great General of the Seperatist Army!

Tomorrow brings us to "H". I have a couple of choices in mind, so it is time for me to reflect on who or what it will be.
