The Saga Continues. . .Should It?
While many Star Wars fans greeted the announcement of a forthcoming live action TV series with great excitement, I am reserving judgment until a later date.

One of the things I love about Star Wars is the sweeping vistas and vastly different alien cultures, races, and planets that we see. I fear that the considerably smaller budget of a TV series would take away from that. Even in it's latter, higher budget incarnations all alien worlds on Star Trek looked virtually identical to each other, no matter how radically different the species themselves were. Will a TV series take away from the scope of the films? I don't know.

The strength and endurance of the Star Wars saga begin and end with the story. I don't want Star Wars to become more about the money than the story. Now, I'm not opposed to a Star Wars TV series. As the Clone Wars cartoons showed, there are many wonderful story opportunities in the galaxy far, far away waiting to be told. I just want any future Star Wars stories to hold their own in the rich lexicon of Star Wars.
