A Space Pirate's Life For Me
Ahoy me mateys. Tis been a while since I set sail on these fine blogs here. Me voyages took me to Disneyland, and upon returnin' from that successful plunderin' of me bank account, this pirate caught cold and was out of commission fer a week. Arrggghh. But now I have returned to the seas and once again hope to be regalin' ye fine pirates with more tales about me opinions on the finest space saga ever to set sail on the silver screen. Of course we all be rememberin' that the fine effects in the Pirates of the Caribbean films be comin' from the salty sea pirates over at ILM.

In honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day, it only be fittin' that this be done in the ways of the Pirate side of the Force. And who better to honor than our favorite pirate, and this fine pirate blogger not be talkin' about Captain Jack Sparrow, but the Captain of the Millenium Falcon instead, Han Solo.

A self described scoundrel, Cap'n Solo made a fine pirate. His first mate was hairy and loyal, and in true pirate fashion, ready to rip the arms of a droid in the event he lost out on some pillagin' and plunderin'. In true pirate fashion, Solo was always in search of more treasure and he thought his treasure be enough to pay off that salty old pirate trader Jabba the Hutt, who's been known to send fellow pirates down to Davy Jones Locker.

But Cap'n Solo got more than he bargained for when he enlisted in the mission to plunder the Death Star. Instead of monteary treasure, he found instead the lovely Princess Leia. Though not a pirate herself, the princess was not afraid to fend fer herself in en effort to find the treasure she wanted. Her treasure be different from that of Cap'n Solo, but in the end, methinks the fine captain was looking fer more in life than just treasure and plunder.

Ye see me mateys that Cap'n Solo was lookin' fer a better life. While he was happy as a pirate, methinks that he was a bit lonely with just his hairy first mate fer a friend. While the fearless Wookiee made a fine first mate, Cap'n Solo needed more friends in his life. With fellow, though naive pirate Skywalker, the old space captain found a young pirate in training who still believed in the basic goodness of people. Luke was not afraid to befriend Cap'n Solo and give him a chance to prove that he was a good pirate.

As he began to court the fine Princess Leia, Cap'n Solo found that he wanted more than just pillagin' and plunderin'. With the Princess and the farmboy pirate, he had a cause to be believin' in. He soon found that there was plenty of treasure to be found in pillagin' and plunderin' the Empire. And of course, he found the greatest treasure of all when he won the heart of the fair Princess Leia.

Replies as always are welcome, but on this day, we request that ye form yer responses in pirate speak. Arrr, me mateys, arrr.
