You Must Unlearn What You Have Learned

Like My Father Before Me
Greetings all. The time has come for me to return to the blogs and explain why I haven't been around much these past few months. About a year ago, I decided to move back to California and consider a possible career change. My father has been an accountant since before he even met my mother. While this was not something I saw myself doing, he offered me a position in his practice, and as I looked at the offer and my situation at the time, I decided it was a good move.

Part of my new position meant learning the ways of the Accounting side of the Force if you will. Last October, I took a tax preparation course that spilled over into December, and then between more training, a trip to Disneyland to unwind from all that, and the start of tax season in January through April, I haven't had much time to pursue my thoughts and insights into the galaxy far, far away.

Now, having survived my first tax season, I am happy to return to the galaxy far, far away. I should be back, possibly later today, with a new entry. Until then, the Force will be with you, always.

I'm glad to be back. Even though I've been back in California now for nearly a year, I'm just now beginning to feel settled in again. I think the hardest part of the move came in trying to make new friends, and that is still a work in progress, so it's nice to know that I have friends in cyberspace.

Missed you we have. Been wondering where you have been. I am in the process of finding a job myself, so when I do get one, I will obviously not be around much. I will be blogging as much as possible though. Glad you are back. Look forward to more entries from you whenever you get the chance.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. It's nice to know that I've been missed around these parts. I've missed interacting with you wonderful folks as well. To paraphrase Krusty the Clown, "the best folk in the world are Star Wars folk."

Glad to see ya back. It looks like you're doing pretty well in your new job. I don't know anything about California, although I visited it once when I was 1 year old. (I don't remember anything about it ;) )

May the Force be with us all! God bless!

How did I miss this? Welcome back!! I also had been wondering where you were. My excuse for not being around too much lately is those costumes I've been working on...and I know you saw that entry. ;) I look forward to reading more of your thoughts here!!

Good to see you!]

having survived my first tax season
Congratulations! My step-mom is a CPA, and tax season always wipes her out. She and my dad usually take a long vacation as soon as tax season is over.

I know the feeling. My parents are taking a vacation this next week and I'm going to Disneyland in June just to get away from it all.

Congratulations on your Accounting career. I highly respect your skill, as there is no way I could not figure this out on my own, so I let my CPA tell me when, how and what when it comes to these things :) ...

Have a great visit to Disneyland...with all the changes in your life, it sounds like you surely can use some R&R ...
