For a while now I've been wrestling about whether or not to sign up for Hyperspace again. Now that the ads are no longer blocked for Hyperspace members and that the movies are done, I wasn't sure if the benefits were worth the cost. I had decided that I would probably renew, mostly on account of continuting to blog with you fine folks here, but something happened the other day that cemented my decision to renew.
If you guessed the Hyperspace exclusive window for ordering the Mace Windu Clone Wars maquette, you were right. Tell your sister, you were right. I was one of the so called lucky ones who pre-ordered the Padme maquette a few years back, long before other collectors realized what an incredible piece that was, but I hadn't bought any maquettes since. None really jumped out at me. Until Mace.
Just what does Mace Windu bring to the table? Six Words. Samuel. L. Jackson. With. A. Lightsaber. How cool is that? And Mace's adventures in the animated Clone Wars sealed the deal. And who can forget that Mace beheaded the fearful Jango Fett, and aside from Yoda, was the only Jedi who could hold his own against Palpatine.
And so when I learned that today was the day the Mace maquette became available, and since my Hyperspace is supposed to run out today, I renewed for another year, and after much waiting, refreshing, and following the directions of how to order the Mace Windu maquette to a T, Mace is mine. He will shortly take his place in my maquette collection next to Yoda and Padme, and I can't wait to see it.
It's good to still be around, and I hope that Hyperspace will continue to offer perks like this to Hyperspace members.
