Random Thoughts on the Almost Eve of Star Wars Weekends
After taking a trip down memory lane with Stooge and laughing quite hard at some of his observations, I decided to take a break from packing for Star Wars Weekends. In just two short days, I will board a rather large troop transport and wend my way into the east to visit the eastern seaboard location of the happiest place on earth so I can experience Star Wars Weekends for the first time. I guess my Sith side is showing since I am most definitely excited for this event.

So, with no further ado, ten random thoughts related to Star Wars.

10. If I ever own a race horse (not likely) I'm going to name it Never Tell Me the Odds. Appropriate on so many levels even though I don't gamble.

9. After seeing TPM, one of my little sister's friend declared that Star Wars would be ruined if Anakin and Padme got married. Just where does she think Luke and Leia came from? Kamino?

8. Speaking of Luke and Leia, after my roommate was kicked out of Wal-Mart for wearing a Darth Vader mask and considering the movie Where the Heart Is I always figured that the Jedi would hide the twins in Wal-Mart.

7. While there are certainly other battles with more at stake and more drama, the lightsaber duel in TPM is the best in terms of sheer physicality and action.

6. My date for opening night of AOTC may beg to differ with me since we were both geeking out when Yoda busted out his lightsaber in AOTC.

5. I will wait in line as long as I have to in order to meet and get my picture taken with Jedi Mickey.

4. Will two Star Wars books be enough for the cross country flight to Orlando?

3. I'm especially excited to meet Peter Mayhew. In Disney vacationing parlance, some people use the term Pooh size to address weight issues, so I've adopted the term wookiee size to describe my occasional run-ins with attractions designed by the Disney empire without tall individuals in mind.

2. Some Star Trek fans have talked about how good Leonard Nimoy looks after seeing him in the entertaining recent Star Trek film. Maybe, but will Spock look as good as Yoda when 900 years old Spock reaches?

1. Is it Friday yet?

I plan on it. And you didn't give anything away. I rode Star Tours at Disneyland before Disney's Hollywood Studios park even opened. This will be my 3rd trip to Walt Disney World.

How awesome! I wish they would have "Disney Star Wars Weekend" at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. or at least something similar! I would think it wouldn't be as difficult bringing in most if not all the actors since it is a lot closer to Los Angeles! Oh well... I was there last year just barely a week before INDY IV was about to be released and will be coming back next week! But man, I would love to meet Jedi Mickey! Ah, some day I'll be going to Disneyworld!!!

Have lot's of fun and do blog and share your pix and experience with us when you come back!B-)

AWESOME list!!!!

8. Speaking of Luke and Leia, after my roommate was kicked out of Wal-Mart for wearing a Darth Vader mask and considering the movie Where the Heart Is I always figured that the Jedi would hide the twins in Wal-Mart.

Still laughing at this one (LOVE that movie and the book).

Great thoughts!

where does she think Luke and Leia came from? Kamino? Well, you know.... :p

the lightsaber duel in TPM is the best in terms of sheer physicality and action. Agreed. But I still lean toward the Ani/Obi fight because it's soooooo emotionally-laden!

will Spock look as good as Yoda when 900 years old Spock reaches? Well, the 'ol Vuclan addage "Live Long and Prosper" has gotta have some weight!

Here's hoping you have a Wookiee-sized time at your experience with SW weekends! :D Be sure to check back with your pics!! :)
