Legacy of the Knights of the Rebellion
I read Marvel Comics' "Star Wars" when I was a kid. I collected a lot of the issues and lost almost all of them in a fire when I was 17.

I bypassed most of the new comics that came out in the '90s and for the past few years. Last year, I began collecting the Clone Wars trade paperbacks and picking up issues of Republic as they were released.

I really enjoyed the end of the line and of Empire. Fortunately, Empire sequed nicely into Rebellion which continues the storyline of Lt. Janek Sunber - also known as Luke's friend Tank.

Less enjoyable are the other two series: Knights of the Old Republic and the heavily-promoted Legacy.

KOTOR started off amiably enough with our friendly-yet-clumsy-neighborhood padawan Zayne stumbling into a plot that results in him being framed for murder. We've followed him through several issues so far with little resolution to the storyline.

Legacy is difficult for me to read. I do not have an affinity for any of the characters nor do I like the universe where Luke Skywalker's rebuilding of the Jedi Order seems to have been for naught as a new Empire is in control. The new series has only released a couple of issues, so I'll keep working with it.

While at the same time, returning to a galaxy far, far away to see what Tank is up to.

As much as I love Star Wars, I just can't get over the fact that the galaxy is under new leadership and under threat of a galactic war every couple of years. If this were reality, and so many wars had taken place or nearly taken place, there would be no orginized government anymore. I mean, there was 1,000 years of peace, then a three year clone war, then an oppressive Empire for 20 years, then an annoying New Republic that was frought with various little uprisings, then extragalactic invaders start a war that lasts 10(?) years, now the Sith are returning...it's just suspending my belief a bit to long.
