The latest Republic Commando book left me reeling and quite eager for closure to the series which will end with the upcoming Order 66.
Never did I think the story of a group of commandos would be so intriguing.

Each book has involved a subplot with one member of Omega Squad. Hard Contact introduced us to Darman, Triple Zero involved Atin and his vendetta against Vau and True Colors took us through Fi's injury and road to recovery. One hopes that we will learn more about by-the-book Niner in the last book, especially how he will react to what surely must happen.

We have some tidbits given to us in Legacy of the Force: Revelation. One of Skirata's Nulls, Jaing, is obviously still living, as well as Bardan "Bar'dika" Jusik (who is a bit too bitter for my tastes). Mird the strill seems to have died and there is some evidence that Vau is gone, too, by then. No word on Papa Kal yet.

What will the Nulls do when Order 66 is issued? Who will go along with it and who won't? What about Omega and Delta Squads? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that General Zey is probably not going to survive (my bet goes on his attache Maze as the killer). What about Etain and Darman? There is no mention of them in Revelation and some hints dropped indicate that son Venku (aka Kad) was raised by his uncles.

These books have been among the few bright spots in the Clone Wars novels. I'll be sorry to see them end, but what a ride it's been!
