One Brief Moment of Twine

The journey continues...
Last night she watched Episode II with me.

I am reminded of Ghent's blog entry in which he talks about the new generation watching these films. Liza is pretty much coming into these cold, so her reactions and assumptions are very interesting. Instead of poring over who Sifo-Dyas is and who erased Kamino from the archives, she pretty much just assumed it was Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus since he was a Jedi who left the order ten years previous. There was no huge mystery surrounding this.

But it was cute when Dooku ingnited his lightsaber... I asked why do you suppose it red? She said, "Because it has to be a different color that the guy he's fighting." I said, "Well not really... where's the only other place you've seen a red lightsaber?" She said, "Oh, that double bladed one!" I said, "Yeah.. so the Sith have red lightsabers?" She said, "I guess so!" It was very cute.

Also, it just became ulitmately clearer to her that Palpatine and Sidious were one and the same - obviously.

She liked this one alot. I'm very glad that she's having fun with this. Very glad indeed. Tonight, we're going to the cinema to see Revenge of the Sith. I am, of course, very excited to see it again, and to see it with my lady is a good thing as well. I'm so glad that she's actually going willingly and that I'm not dragging her reluctantly. These movies ARE fun and I'm glad she likes them.

I can't wait to watch the Original Trilogy again. We might start that tonight after the cinema.

That's all for now.
Rawk on,
