It's Hoth in Ohio (and other states too)
Wow!! The year sure went by fast!! Where did the time go?????:| . 2008 will be here before we know it.

As many of you already know Ohio and other states in the midwest got hit over the weekend with a snowstorm.:| Now everything around here looks like Hoth. At times it was so bad no one was allowed on the roads:O . Which really did a number for those still out Christmas shopping. Lucky for us, we got ours done before it got that bad]:) .
My three padawans enjoyed it. They spent their time sledding, throwing snowballs and making snow angels.:p . The boys at least enjoyed having yesterday off from school. They spent a good portion of the day outside, but only for no more than an hour at a time. Too cold for more, and I don't want them to be sick for Christmas.
My sister is coming up this weekend. She lives in Tennessee and would like to have her daughter have fun playing in the snow. They don't get much, and it's usually gone in like a day. I told her Ohio weather may or may not cooperate with her plans. Sometimes the weather changes from day to day. It can be 30 degrees one day and 45 the next. We will just have to see if she gets her wish or not.
As for me, I like snow at Christmastime. Makes everything around here look a litte more festive. I just don't like driving in it.:O . It just looks pretty IMO. But that's all. I let hubby do the driving most of the time. I only drive if it's not icy.

Ok, I think I did enough rambling. Hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday season, no matter what you celebrate. See you all in 2008!!!:D

Yes, I can't believe it's going to be 2008, mostly because I've never gotten use to it being 2007. I still want to write 2006 on checks.

I must live further South in Ohio from you. I live in Central Ohio. We didn't get nearly as much snow this last time and around here it will be 45 to 52 degrees towards the end of the week.

Ironically, my siblings live in the South, too, and my brother's children are always hoping for snow when they come to Ohio in the fall and winter.

*sigh* That would be nice. Hey, I'd take anything about 20 degrees! ;)

Glad your kiddos are enjoying the snow! It's definitely Hoth over here as well. I'm ready for Spring now...:D

Yeah. I live about 20 minutes south of Sandusky.
If it does snow again over the Christmas weekend, I hope we don't get much!!

Having ice on top of the snow sucks. Just be careful when you go somewhere!! Thanks for stopping by, DPM! Missed your comments lately. Stick around more.

Six inches of snow? Try 4 feet :p And when the winter kicks in here in Northern Norway, it will get really cold. You know the thing that happens when you stick your toung on a streetlightpole, and the toung gets stuck. The same thing will happen with your fingers.
But we have a heat wave up here right now, rain and mudd. But in January/February I won't be able to touch metal without gloves.

At the coldest, it will be around -40 degrees Celsius, I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit, but it's pretty cold.

6 inches? Hmmm.... I know I shoveled at least a foot on Thursday night and then another 10 inches or so on Sunday before the snow changed to ice....

You know the thing that happens when you stick your toung on a streetlightpole, and the toung gets stuck.
I do... I do! Actually happened to me the other morning.... I stupidly went out with bare hands and tried to dig out my trash barrel. When I went to open my metal door with my wet hands, they stuck to the metal! OUCH!

VG.... miss you girl!

Oh... and we are supposed to get about 5 more inches of the lovely white stuff tomorrow

AND

They are keeping an eye on a storm that could effect us on Friday.

Pretty soon, I am not going to have anywhere to PUT the snow.... nevermind the poor dog not having anywhere to put his duty!

He's a big boy (90 pound Golden Retriever) and HE'S having trouble walking in the snow. This morning, he kept falling through the "ice" covering.... it looked so painful for him!

What's probably the worst though, is that my landlord never fixed the leak in my mud room so, the door casing is frozen making it VERY hard to open and close the door.

You have a great attitude about the snow. Envisioning it as Hoth is totally the way to go!
Just make sure the shield doors don't get shut with you outside.

Ah, it would be nice to have an actual snow day. *sigh*

Down here in Texas (Houston) we got a whole 1/8 inch of snow the year before last. I don't think it was even that much. We had fun making 4 inch tall snowmen, though. :D

I know it's cold and a pain to get on with normal life, but enjoy the beauty of it for those of us who don't get snow. ;)

It truly was Hoth-like this past weekend...and I was on my way to and from work ]:) At least I did not have to get out in it on Sunday--the worst of the days :) I just snuggled in and listened to the wind blow and watched the snow fly around :^O Since I live just south of the primary Ohio snow belt, I get used to it pretty quickly ;)

I hope you enjoy your holidays with your family!!

Stay dry. Stay warm. Enjoy your holiday season to the fullest!!! :D

MTFBWY :)

p.s. despite the thick (and I mean thick!) blanket of snow on the ground right now, our neighbors are having some gardening done. First time I've ever seen a yard shoveled to plant shrubs. And where were they in October when the weather was more conducive to such action???? ?:|

I don't get much snow in Texas. I was raised in the North, so I do miss it to a degree. I don't miss digging my car out in the morning though. I'd like my boys to have the chance to experience it sometime though.

Good luck and Happy Holidays.

I bet a lot of places do. And some places are going to get more before Christmas day!! I know it's supposed to snow again either Sunday or Monday here.
