SECRET CEREMONY

As she slowly came into view Anakin was immiedately captivated by
her angelic beauty. Completely covered in white lace from head to
foot, she appeared to be an angel glowing in the sunset.

They looked upon one another and held hands. Lost in each others
eyes they spoke their sacred vows. Indoing so sealing their fate to
live a life of hiding and deceit.

So this is how it appears to happen during AOTC, I have never read
the noveliztion so I am going completely by what I've seen in the movie.
Their ceremony seems to be quite secluded. The only ones we see
present are the clergy, C3PO, and R2D2 ( besides our bride and groom).

Now it has crossed my mind several times before reading any of the
novels between AOTC and ROTS that someone else must have known.
First clue would be the Naboo clergy, a legally signed document of
the marriage had to be filed somewhere? What about the Naboo
Emabassy, or the Queen? Surely Padme' just didn't call ANY clergy?

After reading Labirynth of Evil, I came across a short segment concerning their secret. Someone close to Padme' knew. The
scene where Coruscant is being attacked by G. Grevious, a small
group of Senators are fleeing for their lives. Padme' is one of them, she
is sobbing thinking the worst for Anakin and she hugs Bail for comfort.
He promises her that if anything happens to her that he and his family
would take care of her LOVED ONES or visa versa. Hmmm... that got
me wondering if Bail knew?

Then in the novel ROTS, Palpatine Knew! Not that this is a surprise,
but he knew because he saw the document from the clergy! Now that
part shocked me, I figured he just saw it by power of the force .

Going back to my question of Bail knowing, this was confirmed after
reading Rise of the Dark Lord. There is a short segement of Bail's thoughts going directly back to that moment of the attack on Coruscant.
He mentions that when he told Padme' that he would take care of her
loved ones that he was referring to Anakin. Now keeping his promise
to Padme', he and his wife would Love and raise Leia as their own.

Ok, so there it is. These are the only confirmed people that I know
knew of their marriage. I know that Obi-wan knew that they were in love,
but there is no confirmation that he knew of the wedding..None that I know
of anyway. If anyone knows of anyone else that knew, fill me in!
