Star Wars is a story of epic proportions that follows the events of various heroes and villains over a timeline of...ohh..let's say 40-45 years. The adventures center around these people and we follow them through different. Since these adventures take place on such a galactic scale it will not only affect our heroes. Oh no, the events depicted sends resonance throughout the whole galaxy and effect the lives of normal people around the galaxy as shown in these situations taken from each and every movie
The Phantom Menace: Anakin winning the Podrace
Before the Podrace, Sebulba was the favourite to win the Boonta Eve. Naturally, nearly everyone would be betting in favour of Sebulba. I guess I few felt they could bet against him but mostly everyone was sure that he was going to win. Lo and behold and Anakin Skywalker wins and Sebulba doesn't even make it across the finishing line.
Just think about the following days after Anakins victory. People that had bet their livelyhood, all their money, their pet Eopies or their lives on that Sebulba was going to win were starting to mysteriously disappear or had their lives wrecked. The whole economy of Mos Espa was starting to collaps because of overzealous debt collectors.
Bodies turning up everywhere. Suspicious Eopie road accidents and people swearing that "They didn't push in the rancor pit" or that "he always wanted to hunt Krayyt Dragon".
It would take exactly 10 years before Mos Espa would recover, which leads me onto...
Attack of the Clones: Zam Wesell blasting the power grid
Haven't you ever wondered what that purple electric power grid thing was for? It was of course powering a part of Coruscant. When Zam blasted it she cut the power for several residents living in Coruscant City. Think about sitting stuck in an elevator 12 kilometers over the the the city surface or how about being a doctor in the middle of an operation?
There were surely people at a Opera seeing something that they had payed good money to see this show and then the power goes which means the dancers can't be suspended which means they plummet to the floor putting them out of dancing for a good few weeks which means the Opera misses out on loads of money.
Maybe in some places riots ensued which can happen during power cuts. And a last thing, it mustn't have been fun to be the electrician trying to fix that because of all the electricity flying everywhere...
Revenge of the Sith: The battle over Coruscant
Well, obviously. This had a major effect on the inhabitants of Coruscant. I mean, there's debris crashing down everyone and such. Think about driving home and finding you're flat being hit by a piece of a Tri-Droid. That would not be a fun experiance.
Then again, such a thing can hit a school, so I guess there could've been some happy students that day
"School's off today because it doesn't exist anymore"
A New Hope: The destruction of Alderaan
I'm going to try to stay away from the obvious fact that billions died when Alderaan was blasted to kingdom come and instead focus on another part. Mainly: Tourism.
Yes, if you observed at the end of Revenge of the Sith, Alderaan had magnificent mountains and it must've been a sought after location for mountaneering. Alas, it was destroyed ruining the holiday plans of possibly millions of tourists.
Also, the unfortunate Imperial Clerk working in the the Imperial Complaints Departement must've been flooded with complaints about "Not being notified of any planet destruction" and "I demand a refund since my holiday was ruined and my ship was hit by a piece of Alderaan". I guess anti-Imperial sentiment was at it's height during these times until the complaining turists were "dealt" with by the Complaints Department Squad.
The Empire Strikes Back: Living on Bespin
Well, it must really suck to evacuate your home on short notice but I'm thinking, we're there enough ships to take everyone away? What if everyone had to squeeze into the ships so that everyone can evacuate? Where would they go? What happened if they disagreed?
You know, it would've been nice if Lando had put up an evacuation plan just in case, because there was a civil war going on around them
Return of the Jedi: Destruction of the second Death Star
I believe that Empire was a greedy business and tried to make as much money as they could by enslaving various species and taking over various companies.
So it would only seem natural that they sold stock in the building of the second Death Star. I mean, what are the odds that the space station will be destroyed a second time? This could be a lucrative business
Anyhoo, we all admit that it would seem like a good deal investing in the Second Death Star (read: the ultimate weapon) and then we know what happened when a certain fleet of rebels appeared.
So there must've been a collective groan from stockholders when the news broke and they faced bankruptcy. Well, I guess that's what you get when trying to make money off the evils of the Empire.
