E3 2005 -- On your marks...
Things are buzzing (raging) around here and everyone is slamming to get ready for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the L.A. convention center this week. LucasArts will be there showing off our new product line-up to the press, trade professionals and probably a smattering of famous people and dignitaries. The number of pieces that have to sync up for this type of event is downright ridiculous and akin to the proverbial herding of cats. Trailers, demos, press schedules, booth set-up, transportation, and of course, the critically important Costco run. E3 survival for booth workers lies in those few moments you get to disappear in the break room and grab a Kit-Kat, granola bar, handful of Advil or some breath mints. Pulling it all together is quite an intricate dance of precision and chaos, but somehow, it always seems to work out.

Our line-up this year includes Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Galaxies: The Total Experience and Star Wars Empire at War. There may also be some other surprises in store, but that will have to wait for another entry. In the meantime, my hat's off to all the LucasArts folks who have been working long days and longer nights to make us all look good at the show. Have a safe trip, drink lots of water and go light on the swag collecting -- you know you'll throw it away later anyway.
