As promised, here's more info about the future Indy game. On a personal note, I'm a big Indy fan and it's great to know that LucasArts is going to be keeping the adventurous spirit of Indiana Jones alive and well in the world of video games! Below is the official word on the game...enjoy.
----- Begin Official Announcement -----
Break out the Hat and Whip
Powered by the next generation in console technology, Indy's back and better than ever! Created internally by
LucasArts, the yet-to-be-named Indiana Jones video game sends the iconic archaeologist on his most epic adventure yet. In 2007, the strength of the upcoming systems presents players with incredibly realistic, detailed environments that will span the globe. They'll experience an interactive story unlike any that's ever unfolded before them, as well as a noticeable evolution in physics and artificial intelligence.

Woohoo! Indy's Back! Indy's Back! ...ahem...so, yeah...like I said...I'm a bit of an Indy fan
Since we have some time until we can get our hands on the game, I've come up with a list of things to do to tide you over and get you back into that Indy mood...
Let's start with the Official Indiana Jones
website. Brought to you by the same hard-workin' folks who feed your
Star Wars addiction, the Indy site is the place to begin your journey. If you don't have the excellent Adventures of Indiana Jones
DVD set, you're missing out on some great behind-the-scenes content, and of course, three excellent films!
Now, before you move on, open a new browser and let that Indy theme song on the official site keep playing in the background...(da-da-da-daaaa da-da-daa, da-da-da-daaaaaa da-da-da-da-daaaaaa!) makes for a more media-rich-interactive type experience.
Alrighty then...If you've never been to
TheRaider.net, you should go there and look around. The site is filled with tons of fun information and interesting info about the movies, games and just about anything else Indy.
If you really want to get into the spirit of things, whip out your credit card and visit
IndyGear.com. They can hook you up from Fedora to boots and everything in between. The site goes to great lengths to provide info on authentic Indy gear and tell you where to get it.
How about this...an entire site dedicated to the Indy
pinball machine. Tilt!
Let's go to the way-back machine now boys and girls. We're set for 1999 and we're going to take a quick look at an old-school LucasArts game
website (caution...the Firefox browser and this site are not friends). This is the very first site I created when I started here, so new Indy game announcements always bring back the excitement of my first days working at LucasArts. OK, thanks for indulging me in a trip down memory lane...
Finally, true confessions...along with my love of the Indy films, I'm a bit of a Disney geek. For me, there's no better way to immerse myself in the world of Indy than to head to the land of the Mouse and take a spin on the
Indiana Jones Adventure ride. I recently found out from my super-exclusive-insider Disney sources (ok, it's just another message board of Disney geeks) that the Indy ride was recently returned to its original "jerky/extreme" setting. They had toned down the gyrations of the jeeps for a while, but as of last week, they are revving and rolling hard once again. Time to call your AAA agent and book a trip! On a side note, have you ever seen so many skulls? There must be like 12,387 skulls inside that ride.
Update: I just got an email with a link to most
ginormous article ever written on the history of the Indy rides! It was written by our very own
bonniegrrl...how did I miss this...drat!
OK, I hope this keeps you busy for a while. We'll bring you more info on the new Indy game as development progresses and cool images and such start rolling in.
Until then, keep your Fedora out of the dust and your whip hand free (...don't ask, I just made that up).
