"I did it for you.... to protect you."
Or did he?
Anakin tells this to Padme after turning to the darkside. Did he really do it for her or because of his own displeasures with the Jedi Council's holding him back and his longing for more.... ?
Well, as some of you know, I was going to audition for a musical (just local company, nothing major in NY or anything). The audition was supposed to be last week and I was all set to go. The song was picked, it had been practiced over and over and over again.
And then, the conflict.
As most of you know K2, my lovely daughter, has auditioned and been accepted into one of the Boston productions of the Nutcracker the last two years. Rehearsals are always on Saturdays with the 1st production being the weekend of Thanksgiving.
So, I visit the website last week and find..... Auditions are this Saturday.
Hmmmmm......
So, do I go for my audition last week? NOPE.
My kids are my life and I will always put their hopes and dreams ahead of mine. No way was I going to have K2 depend on anyone else to get her to and from rehearsals on Saturdays (her Dad works on Saturdays anyway and my parents do more then their share of running the kids around during the week) because of my interests.
Thus, I decided it was not in the best interest of the schedule for me to audition for the production I was going to. Instead, I will be bring her to rehearsals every week - starting next week - and watch all 2-3 productions that she is in and ...
"Bring peace and justice to my new Empire".
Of course, she will never know.
Just makes you think .... are you making decisions for your own benefit or are you really doing it for someone else? When ever I am watching RoTS and hear Anakin say that to Padme on Mustafar, I can't help but making another real life comparison.
Have a great day all.... thanks for stopping by!
