If you had met Darth Vader as "Li'l Ani" on Tatooine before meeting him on the Tantive IV in Ep.4, would you still feel the same way about him?

AND

Would you like Star Wars as much as you do today if you had seen the PT first?

I guess the real question, perhaps for the older viewers here, is IF The Maker had decided to tell the Skywalker story from beginning to end would you have liked it as much?

To this question, I originally answered no. Why? Well, I was looking at it from an adult prospective.

I don't dislike TPM but, it's not my favorite movie. As an adult, if it had come out first, I found myself questioning whether I would have bothered to see 2-6 if they were released in that order.

Probably not. I am a JarJar Binks hater. But, on the other hand, I liked Darth Maul so, who knows....

Now, looking at it from a child's point of view....

Jar Jar was funny to my youngest when he first saw him and, through his eyes, I would have to say that if I saw JJB for the first time as a 3 or 4 year old, he would be funny to me too.

However, I wouldn't have gotten all the political stuff that was going on and would have been bored when Obi-Wan visits Kamino.

But, I would have been left wanting more - just as I was in 1977 when SW first came out.

Yet, seeing DV rise at the end of ROTS would have left me wanting more and asking, just as I did as an adult, "now that he's been saved, what's next?"

SO! The big question for you is (there's actually 2):

Would you be as big of a fan if the films were released 1-6?

AND (for those of us lucky enough to have seen 4-6 then, 1-3)

What order would you show them to your kids?

My kids were blessed in that they both saw SW 4-6 then, 1-3.

However, 1-6 tells the story better.

BUT! 1-6 makes you feel more pity for A/DV in the end, doesn't it?

I kind of like remembering him as the strong, powerful being that he died as at the end of RoTJ (yes, I still cry in that scene... you know the one). So, I am glad I saw them in the original order ... 4-6 then 1-3.
