Text based online RPG games
Well, I'm back playing on MUSHes and MOOs... Both well different from each other and both very entertaining. If you want to have a good time, these are the ones I recommend.

One is StarWars based named StarWarsMUSH, it's awesome, really focused on RP, little code and lots of fun. It started two years after the destruction of the Death Star II and has all kinds of factions to join, New Republic, the persistent remainings of the Empire, Independent systems, commerce guild, you name it, they got it. They greatly embrace the Expanded Universe, with a load of races to pick. The system they use for character and everything else is based on the old D6 system of WestEnd Games, one of the best so far in my opinion. The people welcome you with open arms and are willing to help. Nice place to have fun. I myself have a mechanic this time that's working for the New Republic Navy on a capital ship. The roleplay is made with long poses, something that I haven't mastered yet, that gives the feel that you're co-writing a SW novel. Good stuff.

The other is a passion, Sindome is a cyberpunk MOO. Think Judge Dredd meets Johnny Mnemonic meets the Matrix meets Sin City... It's greatly influenced by the books of William Gibson. Has a lot of coded stuff from clothing to combat and it's quite an unique experience. The staff and players do have a warmfull reception to new players, and take RP seriously. Short poses and emotes give it a really quick pace. I like it so much that I take up some of my time to help create stuff for it. The class divisions, the corporation affairs, the life of the scum on the Mix, it's all there. I think both William Gibson and Frank Miller would be proud.
