Darth Tarkin?

It has been a while since I have been blogging at starwars.com; I have been busy with moving, and running two blogs. One is a Star Wars blog that I started up last night at http://swexpanded.blogspot.com I want it to be like Star Wars.com blogs, but smaller, with deeper questions being asked. Anyway, I figured that I would ask a question here.

In Episode IV, we see that Tarkin has limited power over Darth Vader. It however seems that at sometimes, Tarkin is jealous of Vader. Could Tarkin be wanting to be a Sith, or could he want to destroy Vader and the Empeoror and rule the Empire?

date Posted: Oct 25, 2005 4:35 PM In my opinion wants to rule the empire. He probaly has enough knowledge fo the sith to understand he has no knowledge of the force...and its to late for him.

From what is seen of the other Moffs in the novels/comics/games, they all seem to be ambitious and power hungry. I guess it is a possibility that Tarkin resented Vader having Palpatine's favour. But I don't think he wanted to be Sith. While Tarkin was more open minded about the Force than the other officers onboard the Death Star, he seemed to place more faith in his "technological terror" than anything else. Maybe he wanted to use the Death Star to overthrow Vader and Palpatine, I don't know, but I really don't beleive Tarkin wished to be a Sith Lord.

date Posted: Oct 25, 2005 10:06 PM Look in the databank for Admiral Motti (the guy Vader choked). Somewhere in there it says that he approached Tarkin and said that they now had enough power at their fingertips to destroy th Emperor. You can imagine what they were planning

date Posted: Oct 25, 2005 11:19 PM Tarkin is nothing compared to the Emperor, it is impossible for him to overthrow Palpatine. And if he openly confront Vader (politically or military), Vader would crush him too

date Posted: Oct 26, 2005 4:01 PM Yeah!! How Tarkin did get control Vader?! He's WEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAK! Vader would win because he's not just a crippled man, but a Sith Lord that is crippled (this is just to show that the force can help, even if you are crippled)!
