First Star Wars book.
I was reading the new Insider magazine - 91, and on page 19, after reading the article on Zahn's new book- Allegiance- I was looking at one of the 30th anniversary facts and it talked about the first SW book which was the novelization of the first film before it was called "A New Hope". Well, I have one of those books. I was looking to see what number the book is, and on the inside it said- dee aye are tee h - dee eye es aye pee pee are oh vee eye in gee.

First Edition: December 1976
Twelfth Printing: July 1977

Thats cool I thought, I've got the twelfth book that was printed of the very first SW book. I've also got a frist edition of "The Empire Strikes Back"
but it dosent say which print it was. So now im looking for "Return of The Jedi" First Edition. If anyone has any info on one, let me know please.

Sweet! I was thinking hoe lucky everyone was who had one of those when I read that!! It's too bad that it was completely impossible for me to have one of those... way before my time.
You're a lucky man...

Being an old geezer, I have them all.
My copy of Star Wars is falling apart, but I still take it to the conventions to get the inside signed - the signatures are building up quite nicely in there ;)

You know, I own the first-edition novelizations of both Empire and Jedi. I once saw a copy of the Alan Dean Foster novelization (though the first edition is credited to George Lucas) at a Salvation Army. Not realizing its historical value, I didn't buy it. :_|

As for acquiring the other books, I think your best bet would be amazon.com or used books stores. Sorry I couldn't help any more!
