Another question to think about.
I have'nt had time to make a part 2 yet, so think of this as part 1.5
I thought of this at work one day, as I was replaying Ep.1 in my mind. I usually go through the movies in my head scene by scene and word by word as best I can. It makes the day go by much faster.

Ep.1-3 In Episode 1, Qui-gon saves JarJar's life (I curse him for that) and that means that Jar owes him a life debt ( according to Qui-gon. Did he really mean it, or just mention it to Boss Nass just to have jarjar show them the way to the surface? )Now, when you think of life debt, you probably think of Chewie's life debt to Han. Chewie would honor that debt and protect Han with his life, and the only way he would'nt be able to, is if he was dead. I sure as heck don't think JarJar could protect Qui-gon if he wanted to, mainly because he is a coward, and because Qui-gon is a Jedi.

Is JarJar free of the life debt, now that Qui-gon is dead, or does it pass on to Obi-wan because he was Qui-gon's Padawan? And if it did, then how did he honor it? Well, in Ep.2 he was the reason Senator Palpatine gained the emergancy powers to control the army and in Ep. 3 use that army to wipe out the Jedi. I know there is a difference in the two species, but I don't think there is a defference in Life debts, if there is, never save a Gungan. Have'nt read about any gungans in the EG
