I just got back from seeing RotS for the second time. Here are some of my thoughts.
So how was it? It was... different. (The experience, not the movie, obviously!) I didn't have the initial excitement and anticipation that was there at the midnight showing, but the movie itself still instilled that in me quite quickly. (Seeing the large STAR WARS at the start always makes me excited!) Overall I wasn't as emotional, so I was able to pay attention to and absorb much more of the ending of the movie this time.
First of all, the battle at the start was just
awesome. This is partly because I've read that far in the book now. I was unsure while reading how much of the space battle made it into the movie, and while there were some parts in the book that I wished were in there (like when Anakin used his ship to nudge Obi-Wan (whose ship had lost the ability to maneuver) into the hanger bay - another crazy Anakin stunt!) but overall I think this was wonderfully done. And the whole fight with Dooku - while it was SO short, I was able to appreciate the subtleties of it a lot more. Sooo good. The look on Dooku's face when he's betrayed - I noticed it the first time, but it wasn't as powerful. Dude, wow.
I listened to the music a lot more this time, and I love it all! I love how when the ship is crashing at the start, the music is a mix of the RotJ sail-barge battle music (I think it was that... games like X-Wing Alliance have forever messed with my ability to place SW music within the movies) with Duel of the Fates. I really really need the soundtrack ASAP.
Did anyone else find it very strange to hear Vader say (in Vader's voice) "Padme"? And wonder where she is and if she's alright? That was very strange to me. Like the mix of two worlds, which I suppose it was.
I felt a lot more sorry for Obi-Wan this time. And a bit less sorry for Anakin.
Order 66 made me cry. A lot more than the first time - that time I was more shocked. And a scene I had no memory of - when Yoda and Obi-Wan return to the Jedi Temple and are fighting clones outside -
so sad. Killing makes me sad generally, team-killing is way worse.
Grievous actually seemed very cool this time. I'm glad he was in the movie, even if he didn't do a lot. Wow, his fight with Obi was leet. Short, but very cool. 4 sabers > all!
Clones without helmets = major squee!!

Yay! The part of me that loved twins when I was a child is still around. The same person but different
people. Such an interesting and amazing paradox. I love that. The clones just
rock. Too bad there were no Republic Commandos.

But at least I know that the Deltas were on Kashyyyk!
I'm happy that my pronunciation of Kashyyyk (Ka-SHEEK) is now G-canon, as opposed to the KASH-ik pronunciation in some of the games. (You know you're a SW continuity nerd when you start talking in terms of G-canon, C-canon, etc. - lol!)
I suppose that's all I have to say. Oh, and Zett Jukassa (aka Leet Jedi Kid) freakin'
represented. o_o That is all.
My siblings and I have a theory about the death stars, which I hope to write about soon!
