I finally got my new comics today! Have already read The Defense of Kamino, and will probably finish the other two before bed. (I have work to do... but I'm quite tired and rather pained by female issues so reading in bed is my style right now.) But woot, they're so good. Finally I've met Quinlan Vos and Comic!Aayla - heard so much about them.

Dudeman, Padme in RotS was quoting Mira! (Well, sorta... her lines were borrowed, I guess.) Mira (who looks like a freaky white-skinned vampire lady... eep) was a Jedi who refused to fight for the Republic early on in the Clone Wars, and she explained her reasons as follows:

"I - and those for whom I speak - believe that that this war represents a failure to listen. Among the Confederacy are those with just complaints. We need to stop fighting and let diplomacy resume."

And then this other guy, Rhad Tarn, jumps in with "Maybe we're on the wrong side. We Jedi should be fighting with the Confederacy - not the Republic!"

Eeee, so cool. Of course, everyone else probably realised this back when RotS came out - but I'm a comic n00b.

Alpha in the Battle of Kamino = ... "I have not worked with Jedi before, but I was lead to expect... more." *zing* "The droids aren't standing around talking. We shouldn't be either. Follow me if you want to do some good." Hehehe, Alpha just jumped in and took charge! And I liked it when he told the clone children that they aren't defenseless and could have taken the droids. (And awww, the clone kids are so cute!!) Ah Alpha, why are you so cool?

I got my Vader Guide in the mail today too, and I already read the short story. Yay! Vader is so much more of an intriguing character with the prequels (especially RotS and the EU between AotC and RotS) and I can't wait to see what the EU does with him now! Woot. And woo, looking for new clone templates! That clears up a few things, continuity-wise. Nice to have it written so plainly.
