Another Geektastic Randomity-filled Entry
I'm trying to figure out how to pronounce the phrases aruetyc runi solus cet o'r and aruetyc runi trattok'o. In the recording of Vode An, that line is SO fast and I can barely pick out the lyrics. But no matter how I pronounce those, there's never the right number of beats. Hmm. So I extracted those lines from the song, did a 'highpass' to cut out a lot of the instrumentals and bass so the lyrics can be heard better, and slowed it by a factor of 0.80. I can hear it better now, but it's still not helping. Arg. "Aruetyc" is now my least favourite Mando'a word.

My books came from Amazon today, so now I have to read Labyrinth of Evil and Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen. In addition to finishing Crossing the Line (OMG non-SW!) before its sequel comes out on October 12. I'm dying to read Labyrinth of Evil, but I read somewhere that there are "major spoilers" for The Unseen Queen. Now to me, "major spoilers" means something like a death or something equally permanent. Not that Persons X & Y go to planet Z and do A & B and the outcome is C. Unless C changes the fabric of the universe, I don't consider it a "major spoiler". I don't know whether Unseen Queen really has major spoilers or if it just has normal spoilers (which I don't seek out but I don't freak out about them either... heh, that rhymed), but I should probably read that one soon. (Of course, there have been other "major spoilers" I've found out about in the wrong way in the past and I didn't care all that much - I don't usually buy hardcovers so I read Vector Prime and Star By Star waaaayy after-the-fact. And didn't mind reading them later even though I knew what would happen.) So I might read that one first. And then Labyrinth. And then finish Crossing the Line. And by then, I'll probably have The World Before. So let's see... 14 days till The World Before, I can probably read 2.5 books in that time without too many problems. I need to stop reading in the afternoons though, as it always makes me fall asleep. I am getting old, I guess, I need an afternoon nap. ;)

I rewrote my staff profile at TheFanlistings.org yesterday:
--------------
Amy is a programmer, a gamer, super-shy, a Canadian, a huge Star Wars geek, a Christian, a figure skater, and many other descriptive words. She's a university grad in Computer Science, currently trying to figure out what to do with her life. In her free time, she enjoys blowing up Separatist droids with extreme prejudice, writing in third person, expressing life in mathematical notation, speaking in Mando'a, and writing in Aurebesh.

∀x ∀y : x ≠ y ∧ x = 'Star Wars' ⇒ x > y
--------------

Woot! I hope it's geektastic enough. Oh, and if you don't speak math, the last line (which I hope shows up correctly in people's browsers) can be roughly translated to "Star Wars is greater than everything". :) And I really do love writing in third person, I'm not just saying that. But people tend to look at me strangely when I do, so I try not to very often. ;)

I ordered my October comics today... I'm getting Clone Wars Adventures Volume IV, Outlander, and Twilight. And I previously got Clone Wars Volume VI too, that should come in a few weeks. Yay! So many comics, so little time. And money. ;) But I will get caught up eventually... well, maybe.

I still don't have the new SW Insider, but I guess that's to be expected since Canada is slow. Still, I want to read the Guide to the GAR! And then sometime I have to hit the stores and see if I can find the other two covers. Me, obsessive about clones? Nah. ;)

I changed my blog's title today. I am way too indecisive to pick something and stick to it. ;) It was originally "Amy's Random Star Wars Ramblings", and then various things in Mando'a, and now "Shroud of the Dark Side". Shroud is an extremely cool word. And if you're wondering - no, there is no other reason for this title. No symbolic thing about my life being shrouded in darkness or anything. I just like the word.

Ok, I suppose that's about it for now. Oh yeah, I was snooping through more Republic Commando game files today, but I'll leave that for another time. :D

Amy's Emoticon-of-the-Entry Award is hereby given to: ;)
